Three Thoughts on landing RB Amos Bradford
Purdue netted two commitments on Monday, one from New Trier (Ill.) quarterback Jackie Ryder, and the other from 2027 three-star Chaminade-Madonna (Fla.) running back Amos Bradford. The Boilermakers added an explosive tailback to its offensive haul in the cycle, which also included Bastrop (Tx.) wide receiver Dallas Crescenzo.
GoldandBlack.com breaks down what Bradford’s commitment means, what he brings to the table and more.

Path to commitment:
Bradford was a hot name on the recruiting trail a year ago, when he netted offers from the likes of Illinois, Louisville, Florida State, Tennessee, NC State, Memphis, Boston College, and others. Despite that, he pledged to Toledo, who was then coached by Jason Candle.
The longtime Toledo head coach departed for UConn this off-season and Bradford went back on the open market. That is when Purdue entered the mix.
Purdue got him on campus once and Bradford, who began his high school career at West Broward, pulled the trigger on an early commitment to Cornell Ford and the Boilermakers.
“The coaching staff, the players, everything. When I first went there, like everybody was showing me love,” Bradford said. “Like, one thing that stood out about him was that he just kept it real with me, like he wanted me to be on his team and play for him. Coach Ford is a great coach.”
“I think it’s a great program for me to come in and fit in, and things will get better, especially with me being there. Yeah, things are gonna get better with me being there,” Bradford said.
Scouting report:
Bradford has explosive written all over him. At 6-foot-0 and 170 pounds, he has a knack for finding a hole, bursting through it, and galloping to the end zone. Bradford has great straight line speed and the burst to break away from would-be tacklers. He also has good vision and cuts back to find open lanes, with the ability to make something out of very little.
“Really my speed and vision,” Bradford said of what he feels he does best. “I got great vision when it comes inside zone, outside zone. It can be any play. I just know, when I get the ball, all I think about is touchdowns, getting to the end zone.”
What’s interesting is Bradford told GoldandBlack.com that he has never ran a 40-yard dash in his life. When he does, it’s going to be an eye-popping number. You can be sure of that.

While he’s a smaller back in size, Bradford does not shy away from contact and can still run through defenders at times, although it does not look like his bread and butter, based on the film we’ve seen.
Across his sophomore and junior seasons, he’s amassed 2,059 yards and 12 touchdowns on 8.8 yards per carry. After starring for West Broward for two years, he transferred to Chaminade-Madonna, where he will spend his senior campaign before coming to Purdue in 2027.
He will join a loaded offense, that also included 2028 Purdue quarterback target Brady Quinn, as well as four-star receivers Tromon Isaac and Ah’Mari Stevens, among others.
Assessing RB targets left:
While Bradford is now committed, Purdue may not be done recruiting running backs in the class. The Boilermakers have offers out to a handful of very talented tailbacks that are still expected on campus for their previously scheduled official visits, at least that we know of.
That group includes Warren Central (Ind.) three-star Keyon Thomas, C.E. King (Tx.) three-star Tristan Willis, Valley View (Ark.) tailback Carter Wallace, and Brookwood (Ga.) four-star Brayden Tyson.
Other running backs of note include Crete-Monee (Ill.) three-star Jeremiah Stonewall, Santaluces (Fla.) three-star Kelsey Gerald, and Bolingbrook (Ill.) three-star TJ Lewis.
All of those names are ones Purdue has expressed high interest in and could be candidates to join Bradford as a 1-2 running back punch in the Boilermakers’ 2027 class.
