Weekend visitors recap trips to campus:
Purdue had a hefty group of visitors on campus for Saturday’s scrimmage, including several top 2027 targets and some emerging national 2028 prospects. GoldandBlack.com and Rivals caught up with several of those who were in West Lafayette over the weekend.
2027 Westfield (Ind.) offensive tackle Nicholas Schurman
“It was great! It was the full contact spring scrimmage so I got to see some real action and it was definitely impressive. As well as this I got to meet and have conversations 1 on 1 with coach Odom and Crabtree which I found very helpful to myself and to building this relationship with the Purdue staff,” Schurman told GoldandBlack.com.
Schurman also shared that he is setting up an official visit to Purdue.
2027 three-star Grayson (Ga.) safety London Goggans
“How Coach Clark really gets in depth of his development of his players. He teaches everything, even if you might know, he’s still gonna teach it over and over again. Like, I like how he reapplies it, because some people may not get it the first time or the second time, it might take them a couple tries. I like the way he develops players,” Goggans told GoldandBlack.com
Goggans also shared that he locked in an official visit to Purdue from June 5-7.
2028 four-star Chaminade-Madonna (Fla.) quarterback Brady Quinn
“I decided to go to Purdue this spring because my relationship with Coach Hinshaw is amazing. I’ve known him since he offered me at UCF when I was in 8th grade. He recruits me really hard and he’s a great coach,” Quinn told GoldandBlack.com.
2028 three-star Davis (Utah) quarterback Brodie Scheinberg
“It was a very productive day. We spent a great amount of time with Coach Odom, Coach Henson, Coach Hinshaw, and Coach Appleby. The facilities are top notch, their focus on nutrition and weightlifting is impressive, and the offense is exciting,” Scheinberg told GoldandBlack.com.
2027 three-star St. Laurence (Ill.) linebacker Sean Rice
“My visit was really good,” Rice told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. “I got to talk with Coach Kane and Coach Odom and set up my OV for June. I also sat in on the linebacker meeting and defensive meeting. Some big takeaways for me was how everyone was on the same page. The stuff Coach Kane talked about in the meetings got done on the field. They’ve got a good mentality and are taking the steps toward improving the program.”
2027 three-star Ridge City (Tx.) linebacker Bryce Breeden
“They run their base out of a 4-3. We run the 3-3 stack and I feel like I have a chance to play as a freshman. The environment and town, I feel like I fit right in. The relationship I have with them is incredible. That is one of the things I look for, the people I’m going to be around the next four to five years. That is something they have on other schools,” Breeden told Rivals’ Steve Wilftong.

2027 three-star Westlake (Ga.) cornerback Khamani Estrada
“My visit to Purdue was nice,” Estrada told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. “Big takeaways for me, I liked that the program really emphasizes the academic aspect and just the culture was great. Nothing but positivity towards me and my family. I definitely enjoyed my time in Lafayette!,” Estrada told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong.
Among the other notables on campus were:
2027 three-star La Marque (Tx.) linebacker Anthony James
2027 three-star Westlake (Ga.) EDGE Elijah Cox
2027 three-star Basha (Ariz.) EDGE TK Cunningham
2027 three-star Crete-Monee (Ill.) running back Jeremiah Stonewall
2028 three-star Fairview (Co.) offensive lineman Colton Ott
Branden Sharpe locks in official visit:
Last week, 2027 three-star Brownsburg (Ind.) wide receiver Branden Sharpe set an official visit to Purdue for June 19-21. The touted pass catcher and Boilermaker priority spoke to GoldandBlack.com about the Boilermakers as a potential landing spot.
“Purdue’s message for me has been come here and expect to win. All the coaches have the confidence that they will get back on the winning track and it’s instilled in their mind,” Sharpe said.
Sharpe has blazing speed and is as productive as any receiver in the 2027 class. He can move around the offense, offering versatility and a unique weapon for Josh Henson to use, should he wind up in West Lafayette.
“Purdue plans on using me as a gadget player, someone who can move around and be put in multiple different scenarios and can play multiple different positions on the field,” Sharpe said.
In addition to his trip to West Lafayette, Sharpe will also take official visits to Indiana, Vanderbilt, and Cincinnati.
