Ryan Silverfield Departing Memphis for Arkansas
Ryan Silverfield as informed the Memphis athletic department that he has accepted the head coaching job at Arkansas per On3’s Brett McMurphy
Silverfield was 50-25 at Memphis and is the only coach to have back-to-back 10-win seasons. He also has a 4-1 record in bowl games.
Look for Memphis to move quickly to replace Silverfield. National Signing Day is December 3rd and Memphis is on track to have another stellar recruiting class.
Memphis is widely regarded as being one of the top G5 jobs in the country and will have no shortage of strong candidates to replace Silverfield.
In the short-term, replacing the current staff will present some challenges in terms of personnel as I expect there to be a very significant roster turnover. Memphis’ bowl game will also be challenging in terms of available personnel.
I’d expect Tom Cramsey to serve as the interim head coach.
There is currently no information on which staff members will be heading to Fayetteville to join Ryan.
This story will be updated throughout the day.
