Texas Tech star forward JT Toppin has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025/26 season with a torn ACL, per Texas Tech Basketball.

Toppin suffered the injury late in the Red Raiders’ 72-67 loss at Arizona State.

The reigning Big 12 Player of the Year finishes his junior campaign with averages of 21.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.4 steals per game.

Texas Tech will try to fill the void left by Toppin with big men such as sophomore Luke Bamgboye and redshirt freshman Marial Akuentok. True freshman LaTrell Hoover is another 7-footer on the roster, though he has yet to appear in a game this season.
