Hero Kanu, Connor Robertson among the 23 Longhorns to be honored at senior day
After Texas punted on listing senior day honorees in its Monday game notes, the Longhorns announced that 23 players will be honored by the program ahead of the battle with Texas A&M. Notably, two players with remaining eligibility were included.

One was senior defensive tackle Hero Kanu. Though listed by Texas as a senior, he has a year of eligibility remaining. On Monday, he said he wasn’t sure if he’d go through senior day festivities or not.
The other was junior offensive lineman Connor Robertson. A fourth-year player, Robertson has a year of eligibility remaining. He has played in 28 career games with six starts.
Players with eligibility remaining have gone through senior day honors in the past. Going through does not guarantee a departure nor does the lack of recognition indicate a sure-fire return.
Other scholarship players to be honored Friday night at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium without remaining eligibility include Jaylon Guilbeau, Trey Moore, Michael Taaffe, Matthew Caldwell, Jack Bouwmeester, Mason Shipley, Travis Shaw, Marshall Landwehr, DJ Campbell, Cole Hutson, Lance St. Louis, Ethan Burke, and Cole Brevard.

Walk-on honorees include Joe Tatum, Colin Page, Carson Marshall, Quinn Merritt, Graham Gillespie, Remy Patson, Hamilton McMartin, and Rick McBroom.
No draft eligible junior save for Robertson is scheduled to be honored. Those players were Lavon Johnson, Anthony Hill Jr., DeAndre Moore Jr., Jelani McDonald, Malik Muhammad, Quintrevion Wisner, Brad Spence, Liona Lefau, Neto Umeozulu, or Jack Endries. However, Texas could elect to have those players go through the process later today as the list of honorees has often been fluid including in the moments leading up to kickoff.
Texas and Texas A&M will battle Friday night at 6:30 p.m. on ABC. Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy, and Molly McGrath will be on the call.
