Nebraska center Alexis Markowski named All-Big Ten First Team
Nebraska Women’s Basketball players Alexis Markowski and Britt Prince received All-Big Ten honors on Tuesday, March 4.
Nebraska center Alexis Markowski is a First Team All-Big Ten selection by the media and a second-team pick by the coaches. The senior from Lincoln is a two-time First Team All-Big Ten pick. She is the first Husker to earn four first- or second-team all-conference honors.
Markowski is averaging 16.8 points per game and 8.1 rebounds. She leads Nebraska history with 51 career double-doubles.
Husker freshman guard Britt Prince is a Big Ten All-Freshman honoree and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten pick. The 5-foot-11 guard averages 13.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and a team-high 3.5 assists per game.
Prince missed two games with a lower right leg injury but returned to play vs. Northwestern. Nebraska defeated the Wildcats 98-77 in Evanston, Ill., on Sunday, March 2, in its final regular season game.
