Stanford adds four-star pitcher Abby Atkinson to talented 2027 class
The 2027 Stanford softball recruiting class added another talented athlete. Four-star pitcher Abby Atkinson from Boyd, Texas, announced her commitment to the Cardinal.
“I picked Stanford because of their incredible academics while also being competitive on the field,” she said. “Their coaching staff is so positive and uplifting, making them stand out, and once I stepped foot on the campus, everything clicked, and I knew Stanford was my home.”

Aktinson, the 38th overall player in the 2027 Softball America recruiting rankings, joins five-star pitcher Vivian Knott as future Stanford pitchers. The Cardinal joins LSU and Auburn as the only schools with two pledges from top-15 pitchers.
The Texas Glory product is an elite-level arm to add quality dimension to the bullpen. Atkinson can create swings and misses with velocity, change of speed and late break. She has a really tight spin on her pitches and can attack different vertical levels in the zone.
