Four-star infielder Samantha Nichols commits to Florida
Tim Walton and his Florida staff are once again putting together an impressive recruiting class. Four-star infielder Samantha Nichols announced her pledge to the Gators, joining fellow infielders Taylor Jennings, Yelli Calvo, Taegan Lermann and pitcher Addison Allaire.
“I truly loved all the coaches and have built a strong relationship with them,” Nichols said. “I believe I will continue to grow as a softball player and person under their direction. I truly felt at home and where I belong.”

The Corona Angels star picked Florida after visits to Tennessee, LSU, Washington and Cal. She is a fluid defender with a strong arm from deep in the hole as a shortstop. Nichols is a true triple threat, having enough speed to steal a good number of bases and the power to potentially have 20-30 extra-base hits in a season.
