College Softball Daily Report: 4/10/26

by: Jason Rhea04/11/26

In a season widely labeled the year of the hitter, it was the pitching staffs that grabbed the spotlight on Friday. Across the Top 25, offenses were largely kept in check, highlighted by 11 shutout victories, including five in SEC play. Alabama and Oklahoma were especially dominant in the circle, as Jocelyn Briski and Audrey Lowry each tossed complete‑game shutouts to anchor critical road wins for their respective programs.

That said, the night was not without its offensive explosions. UCLA remained red‑hot at the plate, launching eight home runs in a 17‑run performance against Illinois. That surge looms large as the Big Ten race tightens, with Washington, Nebraska, UCLA, and Oregon all separated by just two games, shaping up as one of the most compelling conference battles in the country.

Elsewhere, Maya Johnson and Maddia Groff powered Belmont and Omaha to shutout victories, continuing the trend of pitching‑driven success. And Stanford walks off Florida State in a wacky ACC bout that brings new meaning to Softball after Dark. Meanwhile, Southeastern Louisiana swept a doubleheader against Lamar to extend the nation’s longest active winning streak to 22 games, further cementing its status as one of the hottest teams in the country.

All of that, and much more, headline the Friday edition of the College Softball Daily Report.
