Rutgers Women's Basketball guard Makylah Moore to enter the Transfer Portal
Rutgers Women’s Basketball has lost one of its two freshmen from last season.
First-year guard Makylah Moore will enter the Transfer Portal, as reported by On3’s Talia Goodman.
Moore spent one year as a Scarlet Knight, and averaged 0.9 points and 0.8 rebounds in 13 games played. She joined the program as a late commit in June of 2025.
The transfer portal window will officially open on April 6th. Moore becomes the third player on the team to either enter the portal or express their intent to enter once the window opens.

Moore’s background
A native of New York City, Moore joined the program in the summer. She played a total of 45 minutes on the season, mostly late in games, with nine games played against Big Ten opponents.
She had her best performance in her collegiate debut, setting season highs with four points and four rebounds in a season-opening win over Wagner.
Rutgers added Moore late in the recruiting process in June, becoming the second commitment of the 2025 class. Former head coach Coquese Washington said at the program’s media day in October, they were scouting her NY Gauchos AAU team – one of the more notable programs in the Metro area – and first had thought the six-foot guard was a 2026 recruit. After realizing she was, in fact, a senior set to graduate from high school in June, things “came together quickly.” Moore starred at Nazareth in Brooklyn, leading the team to a state title and averaging over 20 points per game while going largely underrecruited. She had previously played at South Shore in Brooklyn.
Moore will have three years of eligibility remaining after her freshman season in New Jersey.
