Texas A&M OL Aki Ogunbiyi plans to enter NCAA transfer portal

Texas A&M offensive lineman Aki Ogunbiyi plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Hayes Fawcett has learned. He has spent the past five seasons with the Aggies and will have one more year of eligibility remaining.

Ogunbiyi appeared in only three games this season in College Station. That brought his total of 23 over the past five years, including eight starts.

Ogunbiyi primarily played left guard during his time with Texas A&M. All of his starts came during second and third years with the team as he seemed to take a step back on the depth chart over the past two.

Ogunbiyi committed to the Aggies in 2020 out of Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas, where he was a four-star recruit. He ranked as the No. 220 overall player and No. 7 offensive lineman in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Texas A&M wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with a 17-7 loss against Texas. The Aggies finished the year 8-4 (5-3 SEC) in their inaugural season under coach Mike Elko.

That marks their highest win total since 2021 and they’ll look to carry that momentum over into next season.
