Colorado WR Omarion Miller plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Colorado wide receiver Omarion Miller plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Miller, who is in his third year with the program, is coming off a career-best season as a junior. Across 11 games, he hauled in 45 passes for 808 yards and eight touchdowns, even in the midst of the Buffaloes’ significant offensive struggles at times.
His 18.0 yards per catch average actually led the Big 12 Conference, and he was the only CU receiver with more than 40 receptions on the season. He more than doubled his previous career catches at the college level in one season, too. During his first two years in the program under Deion Sanders, he showed major big-play ability but was largely overshadowed. The Buffs’ 2024 roster included top-5 pick and Heisman winner Travis Hunter, as well as LaJohntay Wester, Will Sheppard, Jimmy Horn Jr. and Dre’lon Miller.
This season, he was the top target for quarterbacks Kaidon Salter and freshman Juju Lewis, but CU finished 116th in the country in scoring and struggled to a 3-9 record.

With one year of eligibility still left, Miller will hit the open market as one of the top receivers available in the transfer portal.
It officially opens January 2, but players are free to announce their intentions at any time leading up to that. Miller was the first of two major defections from CU on Wednesday, as starting safety Tawfiq Byard made his plans known less than an hour after Miller.
Byard took his play to another level in his lone year with the Buffs, recording 85 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles as one of the lone bright spots in their secondary.
