Xavion Brice flips to Texas
Texas sought for additional defensive back talent in the 2022 class. They found some, and in doing so took a swipe at one of its main recruiting rivals. Arlington (Texas) Seguin DB Xavion Brice committed to Texas, choosing the Longhorns over Texas Tech and his previous commitment to Oklahoma.

Brice is the 24th commit in Texas’ 2022 class. He is ranked No. 254 in On3’s internal rankings, and No. 45 in the state. In the On3 Consensus, he is the No. 493 prospect in the country and No. 76 in the state.
Justin Wells on the commitment: At 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Brice played quarterback for Seguin, while his future was always manning the island. Brice had the speed, wingspan and disposition to be special at the next level.
Brice had 13 offers including Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Kansas, Baylor, Hawaii, Illinois State, Missouri, SMU, TCU, Tulane, Tulsa, and Utah State.

He committed to Oklahoma on July 4 over the Longhorns. Brice officially visited Texas on December 10, and flipped to the Longhorns less than a week later.
Brice joins a secondary class that includes Aledo’s BJ Allen, Port Arthur Memorial’s Jaylon Guilbeau, and Denton Ryan’s Austin Jordan.
