Mansfield Summit 2027 EDGE Cameron Hall Commits to the Longhorns
Texas is already gaining traction in the 2027 cycle, and it just turned into a statement win in the Metroplex.
Mansfield (TX) Summit four star 2027 EDGE Cameron Hall has committed to Texas, giving the Longhorns a high ceiling edge rusher from right down the road and a big early piece for the next recruiting class.
Hall’s decision comes after months of steady relationship building with Texas EDGE coach LaAllan Clark, and Hall has been clear for a while that Texas felt like more than just another offer.
A relationship that hit different
In a world where recruits hear the same pitch from everyone, Hall consistently described Texas as personal, real, and rooted in connection with his position coach.
“Me and Coach Clark, our relationship is really great. That’s my dawg. We share a lot of things in common,” Hall told Inside Texas.
What stood out most was Hall saying the development piece wasn’t just talk. He felt like Clark was already investing in him.
“He helps me with my game already, and I’m not even committed there. He already shows a genuine interest in me, thinks I can be good, loves the way I play the game and I feel like he can enhance my game even more,” Hall said.
That trust shows up in how Hall talked about playing for Clark long term.
“I can definitely see myself playing for somebody like Coach Clark,” he said. “He’s real, he can relate, and I know he can develop me.”

Austin visits that helped confirm it
Hall didn’t just build a relationship over the phone. He also put in the time to see Texas up close, including back to back trips to Austin in the fall. He attended the Arkansas game, then returned the next week for the Texas A&M matchup.
“I enjoyed going back to Austin for back to back. It’s Austin. Both experiences were live, the crowd was into it, and Texas put on a show in both games,” Hall said.
Between the atmosphere and the consistency from the staff, Hall kept feeling like Texas was trending toward the top.
“If I was making an early decision…”
Well before the commitment became official, Hall basically spelled out where things were headed.
“Texas is in a really, really good spot. If I was making an early decision, Texas would definitely be the school. I can see myself playing for them and Coach Clark, that’s my dude. We’re really close,” Hall said.
Now, that early confidence has turned into a public decision.
A big in state win for 2027
Hall is a four star EDGE who has been rising within the 2027 class, and Texas beat out a serious list to get this one done. Hall committed to Texas over schools like TCU, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss.
For Texas, this is the type of early cycle momentum that matters: land a premier in state edge, lock in the relationship, and set the tone for the class.
