Offer from Vols' 'a big deal' for fast-rising in-state ATH Zaydyn Anderson
Tennessee extended an offer to fast-rising 2026 Greeneville (Tenn.) Athlete Zaydyn Anderson on Monday evening after he made his way to Knoxville.
“It was just a crazy feeling,” he told Volquest of this. “Your hometown and you grew up here, just knowing everyone wants to go to UT. I was expecting a smooth day, and I was not expecting the offer at all.”
“I am excited, to be honest,” Anderson added about learning of the offer from Martinez. “It is just a great opportunity and it is a big deal.”
When asked if this was a dream-type offer, Anderson said as much.
“Yeah, I would say that it was,” the fast riser said of this. “I mean, growing up in Tennessee and everything like that. I used to come to the camps when I was younger with my friends and stuff.
The message from the Tennessee staff was clear.
“They told me they like my ball skills, and they like how I don’t get nervous when the ball is in the air, and I can go get it,” he said. “They told me they see me as a defensive back. I don’t really get to train just for football, so he told me my ceiling is high.”

The in-state prospect was also impressed with Tennessee Head Coach Josh Heupel.
“He is a good coach, and he has a great experience here and he has a winning attitude,” Anderson said of his thoughts on Josh Heupel.
“I just noticed how they play man most of the time, and I liked watching what coverages they are in,” he said of this.
Anderson has recently picked up offers from Colorado State, Memphis and several other programs. He is set to return to Knoxville during the weekend of June 20th for his official visit wth the Vols.
