Top-five guard Jerzy Robinson has committed to South Carolina. She made the announcement on ESPN on Tuesday afternoon.

Robinson appeared on “NBA Today” decked out in a garnet suit and black shoes.

“I feel like it’s home, it’s peace,” Robinson said. “I’m excited for my next couple of years of my next chapter.”

After her announcement, she shared a video of her FaceTime with Dawn Staley after the USF game when she committed. ESPN also aired a welcome video from A’ja Wilson, filmed a welcome video for Robinson, offering the advice, “Be on time.”

Once the top-ranked recruit in the class, 6-1 Robinson is currently ranked third by Rivals and fifth by ESPN. She is an elite shooter and scorer who plays with physicality for a guard. She committed to South Carolina over LSU and UConn.

Robinson averaged 26.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.1 steals last season. She was named first-team All-American by MaxPreps.

This is the third consecutive year that South Carolina has signed a top-five prospect. Joyce Edwards was ranked second when she committed to the 2024 class, and Agot Makeer was ranked fourth when she committed to the 2025 class.

Robinson visited South Carolina the weekend of October 24. She attended South Carolina’s exhibition game against Anderson on Friday night, its homecoming weekend football game against Alabama on Saturday, and met A’ja Wilson while Wilson was in town to be inducted into the Lettermen’s Hall of Fame.

On Friday, Robinson sat behind the Gamecock bench and was serenaded by chants of “We want Jerzy.” She was joined by Kaeli Wynn, who was making her second visit to South Carolina. Wynn also took her official visit on the weekend of September 5. Wynn committed to South Carolina on November 10.

Former Gamecocks Allisha Gray and Te-Hina Paopao also attended the game, and Paopao did a meet-and-greet before tipoff. Paopao and Robinson are both of Samoan descent.

On Saturday, Robinson spent time with Wilson before the football game and then watched the game with Tessa Johnson and other Gamecock players. Robinson was seen cheering during the game and waving a rally towel in sync with “Sandstorm.”

Robinson is originally from Phoenix, Arizona, where she starred at Desert Vista and won a state championship. Before her sophomore season, she transferred to Sierra Canyon in Los Angeles to take advantage of California’s NIL laws, which permit high school players to sign endorsement deals.

Robinson took advantage of California’s NIL laws to sign an endorsement deal with Nike. She is represented by Kultch Sports, the same agency that represents Wilson, Gray, and numerous other current and former Gamecocks.

“Being able to sign with Nike at 15 (years old) has just changed my life,” Robinson told On3’s Talia Goodman. “Sometimes you have to take risks, but the reward is always greater. I still don’t believe it’s real. All the time, the hard work, the testimony, the struggle, the sacrifice and the tears – it just all comes to fruition and to be able to be signed by Nike has just changed my life.”

South Carolina is playing its final season as an Under Armour school. Nike takes over as the Gamecocks’ apparel provider on July 1, 2006, and the contract makes women’s basketball a high-profile part of the agreement, with an entire section of the contract devoted to “A’ja Wilson Integration.”

Multiple reports have said that Robinson developed a close relationship with South Carolina assistant coach Wendale Farrow while he was at Southern Cal.

Robinson has won three gold medals playing for USA Basketball. She has played in the 2023 U-16 Americas Championship, 2024 U-17 World Cup, and 2025 U-19 World Cup. Robinson was the MVP of the 2023 and 2024 tournaments.

Robinson visited LSU on the weekend of October 10. She reportedly visited UConn the following weekend.

Robinson joins Wynn and 6-4 forward Kelsi Andrews in South Carolina’s 2026 signing class. Andrews committed to the Gamecocks on October 7. South Carolina also got a commitment from 6-7 French forward Alicia Tournebize, who is enrolling midseason to play immediately.
