South Carolina offers Virginia safety, son of former NFL product

by: George Bagwell01/23/26

The DMV remains a priority for South Carolina football recruiting. The Gamecocks are dipping their toes back into the region by offering class of 2028 safety Kaden Golston. Golston is a product of Stone Bridge (VA) Ashburn, an area in northern Virginia not far from DC.

Golston announced the offer on Wednesday night on social media. Prior to his offer from South Carolina, the Stone Bridge prospect had been offered by Maryland, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, and Duke. South Carolina stands out as Golston’s first offer from the SEC.

The Gamecocks have had success recruiting the secondary in recent years under defensive backs coach Torrian Gray. Notably, former Gamecock and current Seattle Seahawks rookie safety Nick Emmanwori has made a splash in the NFL.

As a sophomore, Golston recorded 84 tackles for the Bulldogs. Additionally, he tallied 10 passes broken up, along with one interception. For his efforts, Golston was named as Second-Team All-State at the defensive all-purpose position and earned First-Team All-Region honors. Golston also plays basketball for Stone Bridge.

Golston’s brother, Kedric, is ranked as a three-star prospect in the class of 2026. He committed to Tennessee in June 2025. Both Kaden and Kedric are sons of former NFL player Kedric Golston, who played 11 consecutive seasons with Washington after playing college football at Georgia. The elder Golston is now the head football coach for Stone Bridge, where both Golston brothers play.

Kaden Golston is listed at 6-2, 185, but does not currently have a rating in the Rivals Industry Ratings. Kedric and Stone Bridge teammate Langston Pridgeon were also offered by the Gamecocks during his recruiting process.
