South Carolina transfer portal signee named one of this cycle's most impactful additions
The majority of transfer portal movement for the 2025-2026 offseason has finally concluded. With most of the dust settled, it is safe to say that South Carolina added some major pieces for 2026. Arguably the biggest was offensive tackle Jacarrius Peak from NC State.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Peak was one of the 10 most impactful transfer additions of this cycle. The former All-ACC blocker comes to Columbia as a virtually guaranteed starter at tackle, most likely at left tackle.
Said Nakos: “The South Carolina offensive line issues were well-documented in 2025, with quarterback LaNorris Sellers sacked 42 times. Shane Beamer’s program worked to revamp the offensive line in the portal, landing a key piece in NC State offensive tackle Jacarrius Peak. The 6-foot-4, 298-pound offensive tackle has played over 2,200 career snaps and allowed three sacks in 2025.”
Peak was one of two linemen on Nakos’ list, joining former Colorado blocker and LSU signee Jordan Seaton.

Peak’s addition can’t be understated, as Nakos is not the only one with a strong, favorable opinion of the Valdosta, Georgia native’s chances of helping the Gamecocks turn things around in 2026.

South Carolina’s offensive line play was putrid in 2025. Head coach Shane Beamer and new offensive line coach Randy Clements responded by adding eight former starting linemen via the portal, including four who earned all-conference honors at a previous stop. Of them all, Peak is the gem of the class.
The On3 Transfer Portal Industry ranking—a composite of the numbers from both On3 and 247Sports—lists Peak as the No. 8 overall prospect and No. 2 offensive tackle in the portal this offseason.
One of just three players to earn a five-star designation, Peak was even higher in the rankings from On3. On3 considers him the No. 3 overall player in the transfer class and the No. 1 offensive tackle.
In an early edition of the 2026 On3 Impact Ranking, Peak has earned the No. 14 spot among all players in college football. He is also the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country, per the Impact Ranking.
