South Carolina to host four-star defensive lineman for official visit
In recent days, South Carolina has added a lot of names to its summer official visit list. One of the class of 2027 prospects added to the docket on Thursday was four-star defensive lineman Nate Kamba.
Kamba will be on campus the weekend of June 5. That is the same weekend his teammate and fellow defensive lineman Jesiah Fields will be on his official visit to see the Gamecocks. Kamba and Fields make up two parts of an extremely disruptive defensive line at Corvian Community School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The 6-4, 290-pound Kamba has other official visits set to see the Louisville Cardinals and NC State Wolfpack. During the fall, he took in games at South Carolina, Ohio State, Auburn, Georgia, and Clemson. Other schools, like Texas, Purdue, Virginia Tech, and Kentucky, have been involved, as well.

As a player, Kamba is a big-bodied athlete who can make things happen up front in a variety of ways. He has the strength and length to collapse the pocket from the interior of the defensive line. He also has the athleticism to get into the backfield.

Kamba also plays on the offensive line at Corvian, and he is an impressive blocker. However, his future at the college level seems set on the defensive side of the football. Still, his experience on offense can only help the mental side of his game.
According to the Rivals Industry Ranking—a composite average of the rankings from Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN—Kamba is the No. 216 overall prospect in the class of 2027. He is also No. 26 nationally among all defensive linemen. Kamba ranks as the No. 11 player, regardless of position, in the state of North Carolina. He is a unanimous four-star recruit.
