On Tuesday, South Carolina football sent out a new scholarship offer. Class of 2027 Frankfort (IL) Lincoln-Way East offensive lineman Mason Halliman announced the offer on social media.

Halliman boasts scholarship opportunities from nearly 25 power conference programs, primarily from the Big Ten and SEC.

For much of Halliman’s recent recruitment, the Iowa Hawkeyes have seemed to be the favorite. Penn State and Illinois have challenged the hardest, and Wisconsin, Ole Miss, and Michigan made up the rest of his top six back in February.

Halliman has already set official visits to both Iowa and Illinois. He also took unofficial visits to see the Hawkeyes, Illini, and Indiana Hoosiers back in January.

It is easy to see why Halliman is a popular target for some of the top offensive line factories in college football.

On film, Halliman shows himself to be a ferocious run blocker. He fires off the ball fast, low, and with bad intentions. After making successful blocks, he then keeps his head up, looking for additional victims.

As a pass protector, Halliman has some solid tools for a college staff to develop. He possesses athletic feet and strong hands, something that should translate well to stonewalling EDGE rushers.

At 6-5 and 275 pounds, Halliman has the size and athletic profile to play all over the offensive line at the college level. He is the left tackle for his Lincoln-Way East squad. Rivals considers him a tackle, while 247Sports lists him as an interior offensive lineman.

According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, Halliman is the No. 485 overall player in the 2027 cycle. He also ranks as the No. 39 offensive tackle prospect nationally. Halliman is No. 20, regardless of position, in the class of 2027. He is a three-star recruit.
