Stone Bridge (VA) Ashburn standout Langston Pridgeon is one of the best players in the country in the 2028 cycle. The high school sophomore from the DMV added a South Carolina football offer late on Wednesday. Fellow 2028 Stone Bridge defensive back Kaden Golston also picked up a USC offer.

For Pridgeon, the Gamecock look pushes his power conference total beyond 15. That is a strong number for a player with two more years of prep ball remaining. The 6-1 cornerback is a consensus four-star recruit and a top-50 national prospect, according to both Rivals and 247Sports. Rivals named Pridgeon a 2025 Sophomore All-American.

Schools like Notre Dame, Virginia, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Oregon, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Maryland, Penn State, Tennessee, Wake Forest, and Texas A&M are among the programs to have Pridgeon on campus in the last year.

As evidenced by his recruiting ranking, Pridgeon is the type of cornerback rarely tested by opposing quarterbacks. In man coverage, he sticks with his receiver, shutting down virtually the entire route tree. When asked to run zone, he walls off an entire quarter, third, or half of the field, depending upon his assignment.

An impressive athlete with good instincts, Pridgeon is not like other corners who shy away from contact. His film is littered with big hits, both in run support and in efforts to separate would-be pass-catchers from the football. He appears to have a strong football IQ, as well, pointing out plays pre-snap and sniffing out potential trick plays before they happen.

According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, Pridgeon is the No. 26 overall prospect in the country in the class of 2028, firmly in potential five-star territory. He also ranks as the No. 1 cornerback in the nation. He is, regardless of position, the No. 1 recruit in the state of Virginia. If the DMV had its own rankings, Pridgeon would be 2nd in the talent-laden area.
