South Carolina to host four-star lineman for official visit
June 19th through 21st is shaping up to be a big weekend for South Carolina football. On Thursday, Woodberry Forest (VA) four-star offensive line prospect Junior Saunders announced that he has set an official visit to Columbia for that weekend. He will be joined on campus by fellow offensive line official visitors Maxwell Hiller, a five-star prospect, and Brady Hull, a priority three-star. That list, obviously, will grow.
Saunders, who boasts more than 15 power conference offers, has been high on the Gamecocks for some time. That has been the case from the beginning. Following his initial offer, he told GamecockCentral, “When Coach Beamer offered me, I was the happiest kid on that field, definitely. Couldn’t stop smiling.”
Other schools like Florida, Oklahoma, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Rutgers, Ohio State, Virginia, NC State, Tennessee, and North Carolina are among the schools that have also been on his radar. The Gamecocks lead the way in the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine metrics at 38.7%.

Saunders boasts an impressive physical profile. With solid positional athleticism, he is 6-5 and 290 pounds with a wingspan over 7-feet. He plays some on the defensive line for Woodberry Forest, but his potential on the offensive line projects him as a blocker at the next level.

On film, Saunders is a people-mover in the run game. In the passing game, his length and light feet make him a nice canvas to work with for future coaches. As he develops, he could turn into a star among offensive linemen.
According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, Saunders is America’s No. 277 overall player in the class of 2027. He also ranks as the No. 24 offensive tackle nationally. Saunders is the No. 3 player in the class, regardless of position, in the state of Virginia.
