Talented North Carolina defensive lineman sets South Carolina official visit
Prospects all over the country are setting their official visit calendars. On Thursday, a major South Carolina football recruiting target joined the ranks. Three-star Charlotte (NC) Corvian Community School standout Jesiah Fields has nailed down an OV to Columbia.
Fields, a three-star prospect, will be on campus for his official the weekend of June 5. Had previously told GamecockCentral he was honing in on that weekend but made things official more recently.
Fields picked up his Carolina offer in May of 2025 and has taken several unofficial visits to see the Gamecocks since that time. Most recently, he was in town for a visit just two weeks ago.
Fields has set an official visit to Louisville, as well. He has also taken unofficials this spring to South Carolina, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech. He took in games last fall at South Carolina and NC State.
Kansas State, where former USC assistant defensive line coach Jordan Dove is now the defensive tackles coach, offered shortly after taking the job, perhaps showcasing how high Fields was on South Carolina’s recruiting board.

The Insiders Forum: Discuss South Carolina football!
Now with over 20 power conference offers under his belt, Fields’ top list has narrowed. Of the group of favorites, South Carolina currently holds the lead, according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.
As a player, Fields is a high school EDGE who many in the recruiting industry believe will grow into an athletic defensive tackle. Potentially forecasting his long-term positional switch, he plays some outside at end at the high school level but kicks inside a lot to tackle.
According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, Fields is the No. 674 overall player in the class of 2027. He is also No. 71 nationally among defensive line prospects. Fields ranks as the No. 27 player, regardless of position, in the state of North Carolina. He is a unanimous three-star recruit.
