Class of 2027 Oxford (AL) offensive lineman Jaxon Elston has emerged as a major target in the trenches for South Carolina football. He picked up his Gamecock offer in February and quickly became a priority. Elston visited Columbia and set an official visit for June.

Now, the 6-4.5, 321-pound Elston has put a commitment date on the calendar. According to an announcement on his social media, he will make his college decision on June 20. He also revealed a top three of South Carolina, Arkansas, and Georgia Tech.

That decision date will come after all three of his known official visits. Elston will see Arkansas the weekend of May 29 and Georgia Tech the weekend of June 12. He has taken recent unofficials to South Carolina, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

South Carolina’s staff made a strong impression on Elston during his recent trip to USC. He told Rivals’ Chad Simmons that he hit it off with assistant offensive line coach Jason Smith and offensive director of recruiting Sam Serbay.

Elston was a former teammate of current Gamecock linebacker Keenan Britt at Oxford High.

On film, he has shown the size and athleticism to play anywhere up front. He has showcased quick feet that allow him to get into his pass protection drops and handle all run-blocking duties. Against pass rushers, he uses positioning and strong hands to win. As a run blocker, he is a high-effort leg driver who seems to love playing with physicality. His first step is fast and strong.

According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, Elston is the No. 991 overall prospect in the class of 2027. He is also the No. 77 interior offensive lineman in the cycle. Elston ranks as the No. 33 player in the state of Alabama, regardless of position. He is a three-star recruit.
