South Carolina defender 'has to be flying up draft boards,' says SEC analyst
South Carolina football lost a lot from its 2024 defense to the NFL and graduation. However, head coach Shane Beamer and defensive coordinator Clayton White helped the unit restock with talent via the transfer portal. Names like Brandon Cisse, Justin Okoronkwo, and Gabe Brownlow-Dindy have really impressed this fall.
Brownlow-Dindy, in particular, has caught the eye of SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic.
Cubelic, a former SEC offensive lineman, knows a thing or two about good play in the trenches, and he has liked what he has seen from the Gamecock defensive tackle.
Linking a video of a dominant GBD rep against Ole Miss, Cubelic said, “South Carolina DT Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy has to be flying up draft boards, getting multiple reps a game like this from him…”

In the play Cubelic linked, Brownlow-Dindy blew up the guard, driving him off the ball and into the backfield. Then, the big defensive tackle shed his blocker before working back to his left to meet the running back behind the line of scrimmage. Somehow, the officiating crew (incorrectly) spotted the ball as a no-gain run, robbing Brownlow-Dindy of a tackle for loss in the box score.

A five-star coming out of high school before signing with Texas A&M, he had some first-round NFL Draft buzz. That type of early selection probably isn’t likely at this point. Still, following three injury-riddled seasons at A&M and a transfer to South Carolina, he is back on the NFL radar.
It is worth noting that Brownlow-Dindy has (at least) one more year of eligibility remaining. Based on the possibility of medical redshirts, he could even appeal for two additional years if he chooses.
So far on the 2025 season, Brownlow-Dindy has registered 18 tackles and a tackle for loss for USC. He has been part of a strong trio of Gamecock tackles, along with Nick Barrett and Monkell Goodwine.
