South Carolina basketball pledge Isaac Ellis breaks two of brother Eli Ellis' records

South Carolina basketball commitment Isaac Ellis is known by many as the little brother of current Gamecock freshman Eli Ellis. However, this weekend, the younger Ellis had a couple of performances in which he surpassed his brother.

On Friday, Issac Ellis went off for 56 points to set a new single-game scoring record at Overtime Elite. Eli Ellis previously held the top mark. In Isaac’s performance (a 100-91 win for his YNG Dreamerz squad over FaZe), he also knocked down eight 3-pointers, dished out seven assists, and pulled down six rebounds.

Then, on Saturday, he set a new career record for assists. With three dimes against the Cold Hearts, he moved his total to 265 assists, again passing Eli Ellis’ previous mark. He holds an 8.0-2.0 assist-turnover ratio this season, too.

Ellis is having a huge senior season and has led the YNG Dreamerz to a 7-1 record through eight games. He is averaging 30.4 points, eight assists, 4.1 rebounds, and two steals per game. Ellis is second in all of OTE in scoring, first in assists, and seventh in steals. Last year, he was a finalist for the league’s Defensive Player of the Year honor. He is a leading MVP candidate for the 2025-2026 season.

Though the early signing period began this past week, Ellis has not yet signed with South Carolina. When he does sign, he will be the Gamecocks’ second signee, joining four-star guard Marcus Johnson. The early signing period for the class of 2026 ends on Wednesday, November 19th.

The Rivals Industry Ranking considers Ellis to be the No. 326 overall prospect in the class of 2026. He is No. 13 nationally among combo guards and is also No. 13, regardless of position, in North Carolina.
