South Carolina basketball conducting visit with five-star prospect

South Carolina basketball coach Lamont Paris dispensed a scholarship offer to Baba Oladotun at the end of June. Back then, Oladotun was a class of 2027 prospect that some rated as the No. 1 player in the cycle. However, in August, Oladotun reclassified to 2026. Quietly, the Gamecocks have been involved ever since.

Per a report from League Ready’s Sam Keyser, on Wednesday, South Carolina will be present for an Oladotun workout at Blake High School in Maryland.

USC is not the only team that has been in on Oladotun since his reclassification. Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Gonzaga, Virginia Tech, and Villanova are among the higher-profile schools involved.

Oladotun is a 6-8 wing who can do a little bit of everything on the court. He is a dynamic scorer who combines shooting ability, length, and athleticism to score at all three levels.

Recently, Oladotun has scheduled visits to Maryland and Virginia Tech. He is also planning a trip to Kentucky and is in the process of adding more visits to his fall schedule.

Following his reclassification, the Rivals Industry Ranking slotted Oladotun as the No. 10 player in the country. He is also the 2026 class’ No. 4 small forward prospect and the No. 1 player in Maryland.

South Carolina basketball will have at least five scholarships available after the 2025-2026 season, as Meechie Johnson, Myles Stute, Kobe Knox, Nordin Kapic, and Mike Sharavjamts all graduate. Former walk-on Eli Sparkman is also a senior but could have an additional year of eligibility.

Paris and the Gamecocks have one player committed so far in the class of 2026. Isaac Ellis, younger brother of current freshman Eli Ellis, pledged his services to South Carolina back in June.
