Currence is rated by the Rivals Industry Ranking as a four-star prospect. He is ranked No. 88 overall nationally, No. 2 in South Carolina, and No. 9 among safeties in the class of 2026.
Currence, who has played all over the field for South Pointe (including quarterback), projects as a safety for the Gamecocks. He combines size at 6-3, 210 pounds with strong athleticism. That type of safety has been good for the back end of Carolina’s defense in recent years.
