Former South Carolina defensive back Keisean Nixon has been selected to the NFL’s Pro Bowl Games, the league announced on Tuesday morning. He’ll replace Seattle Seahawks defensive back Devon Witherspoon, who won’t be able to participate since he’ll be playing in the upcoming Super Bowl.

Nixon, who went undrafted in 2019, is a first-time Pro Bowler after spending seven seasons in the NFL, the last four with the Green Bay Packers. Before that, he began his career with the Raiders and spent one season in Oakland, then the next two in Las Vegas when the franchise relocated.

Nixon had a solid season with Green Bay this year, recording 72 tackles with one interception and one fumble recovery in 17 games. He was second on the team with 58 solo tackles. He also finished with a career-high 17 pass deflections, the most by a Packer in a season since Jaire Alexander recorded 17 in 2019.

Before making it to the NFL, Nixon played with the Gamecocks from 2017-18. Before that, he spent two years at Arizona Western from 2015-16. The Los Angeles native recorded 71 tackles and nine pass deflections during his time at South Carolina.

This year’s Pro Bowl Games will be held during Super Bowl LX week in the San Francisco Bay Area on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

There will be an AFC vs. NFC flag football game as well as skills competitions, which will start at 6:30 p.m. The 7-on-7 flag football game will be at 8 p.m. The event can be found on ESPN, Disney XD, and Disney+.
