2027 four-star DB Kennedy Green locks in official visit with South Carolina
2027 four-star defensive back Kennedy Green has locked in an official visit with South Carolina for May 1–3.
The Douglasville, Georgia native recently released a top six that includes South Carolina, Nebraska, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Green is a former Mississippi State commit.
Green has visited Columbia four times to date, the most of any program involved in his recruitment. His most recent visit came for the rivalry matchup against Clemson. Nebraska has hosted him three times, while Miami has seen him once, with those programs currently viewed as the primary contenders.

“My relationships are strong across the board in Columbia,” Green said. “Coach (Torrian) Gray calls a lot, Coach (Shane) Beamer recruits me hard, and everyone shows me love.”
Green also discussed the opportunity to play early during that interview. South Carolina’s recent track record in the secondary was another factor, as the program has produced three freshman All-Americans in the defensive backfield over the past four seasons.
Safeties Nick Emmanwori and DQ Smith earned freshman All-America honors in 2022, while nickel/safety Jalon Kilgore followed in 2023, all under the direction of Gray.
