WATCH: Kevin Jennings throws 70-yard TD to Jordan Hudson to take 7-0 SMU lead
SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings hit wide receiver Jordan Hudson for a 70-yard touchdown pass to give the Mustangs a 7-0 lead over Clemson in the 1st quarter. Check out the play below from Jennings to Hudson.
Jennings threw the touchdown after hurting his ankle earlier in the game, but showed he was more than good enough to toss that one into the bread basket. Since Hudson’s return from injury, he’s made multiple big plays for the Mustangs.
“It’s given me a lot more freedom, honestly,” Jennings said this week about having his weapons healthy. “I’ve been with most of these guys for a couple years now. So, it gives me confidence just knowing I can put the ball in their vicinity and they’ll be there. I can anticipate throws earlier. It’s honestly a relief having all my playmakers back and ready to go.”

Jennings learned a lot about tough environments last year, winning on the road at Louisville while falling at Penn State. SMU has shown it’s ready for Death Valley.
“Yeah, I’ve been telling them to get adjusted to the crowd noise and that sort of thing. But at the end of the day, it’s still football,” Jennings said this week. “It’s the same game we’ve all been playing since we were kids. And thankfully, we’ve got some experienced guys, transfers from other big programs, so they’re kind of already used to it, all the crowd noise and all of that. So, just go out there and play ball.”
SMU and Clemson are battling on the ACC Network.
