Duncanville DB Braylon Edwards commits to SMU
SMU landed a commitment from 2026 Duncanville (Tex.) defensive back Braylon Edwards, he announced after his official visit. The Mustangs continued to stay hot recruiting the local powerhouse.
”The environment was great. They really rolled out the red carpet and made me feel wanted. The energy from the Coaches and support staff was awesome,” Edwards told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “My favorite thing about this program is they saw the talent in me when I was 5-9 165lbs now I’m 6ft 185lbs they love me the same way. They will use me in multiple positions and that’s what I love.”

On3 ranks Edwards as the No. 74 overall cornerback in the country and No. 109 prospect in the state of Texas. Auburn, Arkansas, Wisconsin and Utah had official visits set with him.
SMU continues to build momentum with the top prospects in the Dallas area and landing Edwards is just another statement in that regard.
