BREAKING: 2024 SF Chance Puryear commits to SMU
SMU landed a commitment from 2024 Dallas (Tex.) Carter small forward Chance Puryear, he announced on Twitter Thursday. The 6-7 forward is commitment No. 1 for the 2024 recruiting class for Rob Lanier & Co.
Puryear also held offers from the likes of North Texas, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and other programs.
Puryear took an unofficial visit to the Hilltop this fall, which impressed him overall.
“It was great,” Puryear told On3. “Good intense practice, nice campus! Met some of the players. Overall, I had a great time. The energy they have (stood out), encouraging one another at any given moment and they’re competitive. They (the team) gave me a warm welcome.”
SMU head coach Rob Lanier, assistants Josten Crow and Chris Kreider and others all were involved in showing him a good time.
