2023 OL Rikter Connally decommits from SMU
2023 Seminole (Tex.) offensive lineman Rikter Connally announced he’s decommitting from SMU on Friday. The Mustangs lost his commitment after he pledge in early June.
“It is after much consideration, time, thought, and prayer with my family that I have decided to retract my verbal commitment to Southern Methodist University,” Connally said in his tweet. “I do not think it is fair to SMU to remain committed, while my heart is expressing the desire to throw and play football at the next level.
“I want to thank SMU Football and coach Justice for believing in me and allowing me to pursue my dreams. I need to focus on my family, school, and team. Ultimately, my recruitment is 100% open.”
Rikter Connally ranks as the No. 98 interior offensive lineman and No. 186 overall prospect in Texas, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks him as the No. 40 interior offensive lineman and No. 94 prospect in Texas.
