Purdue handles Maryland to score first Big Ten road win
COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Top-ranked Purdue’s first Big Ten road win — first road win, period — came emphatically, as the Boilermakers routed Maryland, 67-53, behind pinpoint shooting and strong defense.
Purdue led by as many as 22 after halftime, as three straight three-pointers by Lance Jones pushed a 32-19 lead at the break even further.

Zach Edey scored 23 points. Braden Smith added 13 and Jones 11. Fletcher Loyer scored nine, including a buzzer-beating jumper to end the first half.
Purdue spent most of the game shooting north of 50 percent from three while Maryland did no such thing, barely shooting 30 percent overall.
