What time, TV channel, is Penn State hockey on tonight at Arizona State? Watch the Lions go for a 2-0 start
Penn State hockey will skate for a series sweep tonight at Arizona State. The No. 5 Nittany Lions knocked out the Sun Devils 6-3 last night on the strength of four unanswered goals in the third period. Junior forward Matt DiMarsico had a hat trick in the third period and scored the game-winner, while sophomore forward Charlie Cerratto netted a career-high five points in the comeback triumph.
“We didn’t do a good enough job of it,” Sun Devil forward Kyle Smolen told the school’s official website. “They came out and punched us in the mouth in the first minute of the period. That’s a pride thing. They wanted it more, and we clearly didn’t. I didn’t do a good enough job of getting the guys ready, and I’ve got to be better and the rest of the leadership group as well. The first minute and the last minute of every period is critical, and we let two goals in at that moment.”
Superstar Penn State forward Gavin McKenna made his debut in the Lions’ win. He netted his first two points in blue and white. The projected No. 1 2026 NHL Draft pick was a smooth operator in his first college game.
“There’s not a lot of time and space out there,” McKenna told NHL.com. “I think it’s quicker. I don’t know. There’s not a whole lot different. You’re playing with some good players and playing against good players. I think I’ve played against good players in my life. Playing at world juniors and stuff, I think that kind of prepared me for this.”
