Penn State long snapper Tyler Duzansky accepts Shrine Bowl invitation
Penn State long snapper Tyler Duzansky fell short of his goal of winning the Patrick Mannelly Award, given to the top player at his position nationally, last week. But the Nittany Lions’ senior special teams captain will get a chance to show scouts what he’s made of with the hopes of playing in the NFL. On Wednesday, it was announced that Duzansky had accepted a spot in the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl in January in Frisco, Texas. He was the first long snapper announced to have a slot in one of the pre-draft circuit’s top showcases.
The Wheaton, Illinois, native has played in 49 career games at Penn State, serving as the team’s primary long snapper in 41 of those contests. He earned third-team All-Big Ten honors in 2024 and followed it up with an all-conference honorable mention in 2025.
He was one of three finalists for the Mannelly Award, joining eventual winner Beau Gardner of Georgia and North Carolina’s Spencer Triplett. Penn State’s Chris Stoll, who is in his third season as the starter with the Seattle Seahawks, won the award in 2022.
Duzansky assumed the starting role following Stoll’s graduation and has been a mainstay for the Nittany Lions for the last three seasons. This year, he snapped for Ryan Barker, who went 15-of-16 on field goal attempts and 43-of-44 on extra point attempts. Punter Gabe Nwosu averaged 46.11 yards per punt, the top number in Penn State history for a single season, and did not have a kick blocked.

Penn State players in all-star games
Recent selections to the Shrine Bowl from Penn State include Juice Scruggs and PJ Mustipher in 2023, Hunter Nourzad, Caedan Wallace, Daequan Hardy and Curtis Jacobs in 2024 and Sal Wormley and Jalen Kimber in 2025.
Duzansky is also the sixth Nittany Lion to accept a postseason All-Star game invitation from the 2025 squad, joining offensive tackle Drew Shelton, running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, plus defensive linemen Zane Durant and Dani Dennis-Sutton, as well as safety Zakee Wheatley. Those five will play in the Senior Bowl in January in Mobile.
