Nick Singleton breaks Saquon Barkley's Penn State career rushing and total touchdowns records
PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Penn State senior running back Nick Singleton is now the Lions’ all-time career rushing and total touchdowns record holder, passing Saquon Barkley. The Reading, Pa., native scored for the 54th time on Saturday at Rutgers. He did so on an 11-yard carry that put PSU up 14-7 midway through the first quarter. It was his 44th rushing score, which is also a new record.
“Obviously this year wasn’t what I expected (or what) the whole team expected,” Singleton said last week. “But I wouldn’t trade it for nothing. These last four years at Penn State meant a lot to me, my teammates, coaches and obviously my family back at home. So to go out there this Saturday to get a win, especially my senior night, will just mean a lot.

“I want to get a lot of records, the rushing touchdown record, the total touchdown record, just being that type of player for my teammates and all that. The fans could talk about me when I leave, obviously, very good player I was, very good teammate I was. That type of legacy I just want to leave, especially at that point.”
Penn State leads the Scarlet Knights 14-7 after Singleton’s score. Follow live updates from BWI here.
