Impressions: Did Saturday night help Terry Smith's cause to be the head coach at Penn State?

For the first time since before Penn State took the field against Oregon on Sept. 27, it felt like a party in Beaver Stadium. On Saturday night, the Nittany Lions’ 37-10 thrashing of Nebraska provided much-needed respite from the nightmare of a 2025 season. For a little while, at least, the cloud lifted. The tears were happy ones, though the smiles that came with them did mask the uncertain reality that many of the faces attached would be leaving that field for the last time.
