QUACK: Oregon Flips DB Daylen Austin
The Oregon secondary got a little stronger on Wednesday. Oregon has been working on flipping long-time LSU commit Daylen Austin since the Spring.
The 6-foot-1, 176-pounder is one of the top corners in the country. He’s the No. 105 ranked player nationally and the No. 10 corner per the On3 Consensus Rankings.
Austin has been committed to LSU since May. He’s taken several trips to Oregon since that time giving the Ducks a shot.

While Austin was heavily considering Oregon, most expected he would wait until the February signing period to sign. Instead he has opted to flip and sign with the Ducks today.
It’s a massive boost to this 2023 class which continues to rise in the national rankings.
It does not appear Austin will enroll early. He’s an elite track runner and will participate his senior season.
His current annual NIL value is $143,000, estimated by the On3 valuation.
On3 Scouting Report
Brings a combination of size, athleticism and playmaking to the table at cornerback. He has solid size at 5-foot-11.5, 176 pounds. Austin has shown some improved speed this spring, running 10.82 seconds in the 100 meters. He had a strong junior season and really excelled as a return man. We saw Austin’s playmaking ability on display as he took several kick and punt returns to the house. He drives on the ball in coverage. Austin also shows ball skills at corner with the ability to track and high-point the ball downfield.
