Oregon Cornerback Jahlil Florence Intends to Transfer
Oregon Ducks cornerback Jahlil Florence has played his last snap in Eugene.
The redshirt junior defensive back from San Diego is no longer with the team and plans to enter the transfer portal, according to a report from Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound defensive back spent four total seasons with the Ducks after signing as a 4-star recruit out of Lincoln High School in the class of 2022. He chose the Ducks over the USC Trojans and had one of the more memorable recruitments early on in the Lanning era. The head coach called him minutes after winning the national championship with Georgia back in 2022, at which point Florence had de-committed from the Ducks following the departure of Mario Cristobal.

“Good luck the rest of the season to my brothers,” Florence posted on X Sunday night.
During his Oregon career he recorded 35 total tackles, two interceptions and three pass breakups.
Florence suffered a knee injury at the end of the 2023 season that also keep him sidelined for the 2024 season. After seeing significant snaps as a true freshman in 2022, he never quite carved out a role with the Ducks and sustained a minor hand injury during spring practice this year.
Oregon continued to heavily recruit the cornerback position and has featured players like Brandon Finney Jr., Ify Obidegwu, Na’eem Offord, Sione Laulea and Theran Johnson this season, with Florence appearing in just two games.
