Oregon CB Sione Laulea Entering the Transfer Portal
Oregon Ducks redshirt junior cornerback Sione Laulea will enter the transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Fawcett adds that the 6-foot-4, 195-pound cornerback will not be with the Ducks for the remainder of the College Football Playoff. Laulea did not play in Oregon’s 51-34 win over James Madison in Eugene on Saturday.
He appeared in six games for Oregon this season and recorded seven total tackles and two pass breakups. He hadn’t played since the Ducks 56-10 win over Rutgers on October 18.
After playing a fairly minor role in 2024 he had taken on a larger role in Oregon’s cornerback rotation, but had been getting out-snapped by true freshman cornerback Na’eem Offord. He finishes his two-year Oregon career with 10 total tackles, 4 pass breakups and 1 interception in 10 games.

He was the No. 1 cornerback and No. 2 junior overall college prospect in the 2024 class according to the On3 Junior College Industry ranking from College of San Mateo (Calif.). Laulea committed to Oregon over other finalists like USC, Penn State and Miami.
The Northern California product was one of three cornerbacks (Ify Obidegwu, Dakoda Fields) to sign with Oregon in that recruiting cycle.
Laulea is the fifth overall Oregon player that will enter the transfer portal, joining defensive backs Jahlil Florence, Fields and Solomon Davis, as well as wide receiver Justius Lowe. Obidegwu is the only cornerback from the ’24 cycle still with the team.
