Ole Miss' Patrick Kutas wins Kent Hull trophy as Mississippi's top offensive lineman

The start of Patrick Kutas‘ tenure at Ole Miss was tumultuous, at best, but he has turned into a key cog in the Rebels offense machine and on Tuesday was honored for his efforts.

Kutas was named the 2025 Kent Hull Trophy winner by the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. The honor is given to Mississippi’s top offensive lineman and selected by a panel of NFL scouts who cover colleges throughout the state.

This is the first win by an Ole Miss lineman since Nick Broeker in 2022 and the fifth Rebel to win it since the trophy’s inception in 2013. Laremy Tunsil (2014), Fahn Cooper (2015) and Royce Newman (2020) are the other three.

Kutas transferred from Arkansas this offseason and has been part of the starting five for all 11 games after dealing with an injury in Fall camp that kept him out of a lot of contact drills. has helped anchor a line that has propelled Ole Miss to the nation’s No. 3 total offense (493.8), No. 5 passing offense (305.1) and No. 13 scoring offense (37.2), and has blocked for Doak Walker Award finalist Kewan Lacy and Maxwell Award semifinalist Trinidad Chambliss.

He has played 804 snaps on the season and given up one sack and two quarterback hits in 2025.

“They just came out there with the right mindset: dominate,” Lacy said. “I chalk it up to my offensive line. They motivate me the most. They tell me, you know, just keep running. Just keep running, and they just give me an extra boost to try to go 1-0 each week.”

Kutas will be honored on December 2 at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame during the Conerly Trophy presentation. Chambliss is the Ole Miss finalist for the award that is given to Mississippi’s top collegiate player.

Before next Tueday No. 6 Ole Miss (10-1, 6-1 SEC) travels to Starkville to play Mississippi State (5-6, 1-6) in the Egg Bowl at 11 a.m. CT on Friday.
