Injury Update: Ole Miss releases Friday availability report for Arkansas
Things are looking up for No. 17 Ole Miss and its long list of injured players the last three weeks.
Leading up to Saturday’s game against Arkansas the Rebels are not looking much like the walking wounded anymore, starting with Thursday’s player availability report.
Only two Ole Miss players were listed. Wide receiver Traylon Ray was designated as ‘Out’ and cornerback Jaylon Braxton was ‘Questionable.’ Nothing changed on Friday as both were on the report with the same designation 23 hours before kickoff against the Razorbacks.
After nearly a week’s worth of speculation on the status of Rebels starting quarterback Austin Simmons he was off the report for a second straight day. He started the week listed as ‘Probable’ on Wednesday’s report.

Simmons practiced on Friday, according to Rebel Grove’s Chuck Rounsaville, though it was a walk through practice with no contact. He took snaps with the second team for a second-straight day while Trinidad Chambliss took first team reps as he has all week.
What that means for Saturday night at 6 p.m. CT inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is up to interpretation. An educated guess would lead one to think Chambliss starts the game and Simmons is the ‘break glass in case of emergency’ quarterback if Ole Miss offense stagnates.
The uncertainty around Simmons status has caused the odds to decrease slowly all week. Ole Miss is currently a 6.5-point favorite on BetMGM after starting the week as a near double-digit favorite.
