No. 10 OU women’s basketball has extended its winning streak to three after a dominating performance against Texas A&M.

The Sooners beat the Aggies 85-58 on Thursday at the Lloyd Noble Center. They were led by senior guard Payton Verhulst, who scored 16 points, going 5-of-7 from 3 — easily her best shooting performance of the season.

It was a team effort, though, for OU on Thursday. Freshman guard Aaliyah Chavez tallied 14 points and five assists. Junior forward Sahara Williams and senior center Raegan Beers each scored 12 points — Williams also had a team-high nine rebounds. And sophomore guard Caya Smith added 11 points off the bench.

As a team, OU was efficient. The Sooners shot a staggering 48% from beyond the arc, going 12-of-23. OU had 25 assists compared to 10 assists for Texas A&M. The Sooners led by as many 31 in the second half. The win marks the 25th consecutive win against unranked opponents.

OU will face a much bigger test on Sunday, as it travels to Austin to face No. 4 Texas. The game will tip off at 2 p.m. CT and be broadcast nationally on ABC.
