One important game for Ohio State offensive linemen commits Deontae, Devontae Armstrong
COLUMBUS — Ohio State is preparing for its own season to start as it’s going through its yearly preseason training camp.
The same goes for the Buckeyes’ commits, who were already entrenched with preseason activities before their future program started.
Lettermen Row is going to look at one important game for all 19 prospects in the 2024 class and for 2025 quarterback commit Tavien St. Clair, and 2026 wide receiver commit Chris Henry Jr.
We continue with the offense and stay in the Buckeye State for a pair of four-star offensive linemen: Deontae and Devontae Armstrong.
Early Season Power Clash
The Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive linemen twins are on the reigning Division I State Championship team. Every week the Armstrongs can expect to get their best shot being Ohio State offensive line commits from everyone they line up against.
But perhaps the biggest test will come during Week Two when they play against Olney (Md) Good Counsel.

Four-star offensive tackle Deontae Armstrong already knows who his big opponent that game will be too. Four-star EDGE and Clemson commit Darien Mayo. Mayo is the No. 13 EDGE in the country according to the On3 Industry Rankings and should give the outside Armstrong a great challenge early in the season.
Good Counsel’s coach Andy Stefanelli year in and year puts out a tough program regardless of who is a prospect and who isn’t. Interior offensive lineman Devontae Armstrong will have his hands full against one of the country’s best defenses in one of the toughest leagues as well.
Four-star linebacker Aaron Chiles, a Florida commit, also will be a name to follow in this game for the twins.
The Armstrongs have been the most vocal peer recruiters for the Buckeyes’ No. 2 2024 class. Recent cornerback commit Aaron Scott Jr. said at his commitment ceremony that the loudest people in his ear about the Buckeyes were the twins.
