Ohio State coach Ryan Day visits offensive lineman commit Josh Padilla
COLUMBUS — Ohio State made its first in-home visit of the formal contact period on Friday.
The Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day visited four-star Dayton (Ohio) Huber Heights Wayne offensive lineman Josh Padilla.
Padilla is the No. 16 rated interior offensive lineman and the No. 238 overall prospect according to the On3 Consensus Rankings.
Padilla announced his commitment on Nov. 4, 2021, and hasn’t looked back since he made the decision.
Not that it was an easy one, but it became easier over time for Padilla.
“It was just every single game I went to,” Padilla told Lettermen Row. “I was like ‘Man, this place is home.’ So I’d just keep going back to Ohio State and I found more and more that the place is just going to be like home.”

With how early Padilla committed to Ohio State and the coaching change from Greg Studrawa to now Justin Frye, he’s been an imperatively important piece to the class.
Padilla played a role in landing the rest of the offensive line board: Luke Montgomery, Austin Siereveld and Miles Walker.
Those four make up an incredibly strong class for Frye and for the Buckeyes in really only half a cycle. They will serve as the pillar for what Frye can build at Ohio State when he recruits his own talent. Frye is already off to a good start in the 2024 cycle now that four-star Ian Moore is committed.
Padilla intends on early enrolling and will be on campus this January for classes and workouts once those start to begin. As a recruit, he hasn’t missed a single home game this season and the trio of him, Montgomery and Siereveld have already formed into a well-blended machine. That will only bode well on the field as well.
