Ohio State guard Mathieu Grujicic enters transfer portal
COLUMBUS – Guard Mathieu Grujicic arrived at Ohio State last June with a lot of hype. However, it never came to fruition as a freshman. He is now looking for a new place to call home.
Grujicic has decided to enter the transfer portal.
Mathieu Grujicic appeared in six games for Ohio State as a true freshman. He averaged just 1.0 point per game in 5.3 minutes of action. Grujicic had a season and career-high three points in the Buckeyes 94-68 win over Purdue-Fort Wayne on Nov. 7.
Grujicic averaged 12.9 points per game for FC Barcelona’s Second Team while shooting 48.5% from the field before enrolling to Ohio State. He also shot 33.6% from three-point range and 78.9% from the free throw line. Additionally, Grujicic averaged 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
Louisville, Kansas State and other Big Ten programs also recruited Grujicic last offseason after he made his intentions known that he wanted to play college basketball next season. He was considered one of the top 2007-born prospects in Europe.

Grujicic still has plenty of promise and potential. It just didn’t work out at Ohio State.
