BREAKING: Five-star small forward Anthony Thompson commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS – Ohio State has landed the first big fish of the Jake Diebler era.
Five-star Hudson (Ohio) Western Reserve Academy small forward Anthony Thompson committed to the Buckeyes over Indiana and others.
Thompson is the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 2 small forward in the 2026 class, according to Rivals. He is the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 2 small forward in the Rivals Industry Rankings.
Ohio State now has three commitments in the 2026 class. Thompson joins four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Garfield Heights point guard Marcus Johnson and four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Prolific Prep power forward Alex Smith. Despite the fact that Smith attends prep school in Florida, all three commits are from Ohio. Thompson is originally from the Cincinnati area, Johnson is from Cleveland and Smith is from the greater Columbus area.
