Notre Dame announces home game, Shamrock Series kickoff times for 2026 season

Notre Dame has announced its home game and Shamrock Series kickoff times for the 2026 season, which include four prime time games on NBC and Peacock.

The Irish will open the year with a Shamrock Series matchup against Wisconsin on Sunday, Sept. 6 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisc, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET. Also kicking off at 7:30 p.m. ET: Sept. 19 vs. Michigan State, Nov. 21 (Senior Day) vs. SMU and, of course, Nov. 7 vs. Miami.

Also of note for Notre Dame fans: The Irish will not play a Peacock-exclusive game in 2026. Each home game, including the Shamrock Series matchup, will be broadcast on NBC and streamed on Peacock.

Correction: The Irish will not play a Peacock-exclusive home game this season. Blue & Gold confirmed Thursday evening that NBC still plans on streaming a road game exclusively on Peacock.

Notre Dame will open its season on a Sunday for the second consecutive year, following its loss at Miami to begin 2025. By putting that game in prime time, NBC chose to compete with the only other FBS matchup that day: Louisville at Ole Miss, which also kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ABC.

The next night game is the renewal of a historic rivalry. Michigan State will face Notre Dame for the 80th time, and first since 2017 as the Irish and Spartans battle for the Megaphone Trophy.

Nov. 7 vs. Miami was always going to kick off in prime time, because it’s on the short list of candidates for “Game of the Year.” The rematch of last year’s pivotal matchup that ultimately decided a playoff berth is Notre Dame’s most anticipated game by far, and both teams enter the 2026 season with national championship expectations.

Finally, Notre Dame will face SMU for the first time ever at night in South Bend, and the first time period since 1989. The Mustangs should be sneaky contenders in the ACC and could be ranked when they visit the Irish.

Betting lines for two of Notre Dame’s prime time games have already been released: The Irish are 19.5-point favorites over Wisconsin and 6.5-point favorites over Miami, according to BetMGM.
